Time to Listen – Safeguarding Course Portreath SLSC

Time to Listen Safeguarding Training at Portreath SLSC.

Wednesday 2nd November 2016. 6-9pm.

Surf Life Saving Great Britain is now offering the NSPCC Time To Listen Safeguarding training to all Safeguarding Officers.  We appreciate that many of you already have safeguarding training through your jobs or you have found outside agency training but we would like ALL safeguarding officers to attend the training before club affiliation in 2017.  The training is for those that already have a basic understanding of safeguarding and looks at our processes and procedures within surf lifesaving. If you need to attend a basic safeguarding training course prior to the Time to Listen training, please go to the County Sports Partnership website for a level 2 safeguarding children course, prior to attending the TTL training.

At this time, there will be no cost for the SLSGB training but in the future there may be a small cost to cover expenses. Time to Listen Training from an external trainer would usually cost around £25 per person. As a minimum, the club safeguarding officer should attend the training but we would welcome others that have regular contact with children and young people to attend the training as well.  For Coaches, this will not replace the Sports Coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children training but it will be the next level of training after attending the Sports Coach UK course.

Please register on the course MIS no. 40932

Could Club Secretaries please pass on to their Safeguarding Officers.
