Minutes of the last meeting were accepted.

Matters Arising: David Green, Glen Eldridge, Andrew Byatt and John Martin attended a meeting in Germany to discuss the European Championships, it was agreed to revert the European Programme to the same as the World Champs programme until 2018 when it will be reviewed. This means that the surf ski remains in the programme and there will also be a Club event.

Most members felt Olympic inclusion was not a priority but the Sport of Life Saving does need sorting out properly. The World Championships are now offered to Cities to bid for the event and they can then appoint an Association to run the competition; this may be copied by the Europeans.

It has been agreed that 13yr olds will no longer tow a full manikin in the Stillwater event.

Financial Report: A very good set of accounts were submitted. The question was raised as to why the reserves were so high, the Chairman explained that the only income we had was from competitions, although it has built up the last couple of years we do have a wish list of items needing replacement and projects to be undertaken. The ipad has been purchased for competitions and quotes have been obtained for a new region tent and new flags. The region wishes to purchase a new top of the range manikin and igel packs to be used by club trainer/assessors for lifeguard training – Alex is in the process of obtaining quotes. The Region would like to be in the position of running courses for trainers and officials.

Reports from the Region Officers: as in the annual report.

Secretary Report: Nigel emphasised the importance of more commission members coming forward from the Region.

Les Freke has concerns that there is a vast difference in the standard of training and it is important to re-establish the Region Life Saving Commission so that standards are addressed.

To consider Amendments to the Constitution: non this year
