Cornwall Nipper Champs 2014

Surf Life Saving Cornwall held the 2014 Nipper Championship at Portreath on the 19th/20th July with an entry of 550 members from 14 Cornish Clubs. The weather was fantastic and conditions perfect for the Nippers.


The results were very close with St Ives SLSC taking 1st place with 707 points, 2nd place Gyllngvase SLSC 696 points, 3rd place Portreath SLSC 461 points and 4th place Holywell Bay SLSC 436 points.


Some of the outstanding performances were:


8 year girls:  Lauren Sandland, Crantock SLSC – 4 gold medals


9 year boys:  Louis Beaton-Fowler, Portreath SLSC – 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal


10 year girls: Daisy Greenwood, Polzeath SLSC – 2 gold medals


11 year Girls: Betsy Peters, St Ives SLSC – 5 gold medals


13 year girls: Rosie Boulton, Gyllngvase SLSC – 4 gold medals and 4 silver medals


Sarah Wilson, Portreath SLSC – 5 gold medals and 2 silver medals
